Abstract

As a modernized flour enterprise in the City of Lanzhou, The New Hongmei of Gansu Grain and Oil Industry and Trade Co.Ltd (hereinafter referred as “the New Hongmei”), which was reorganized in 2009, has eased the pressure of tight working capital. Faced with the fierce market-competition within the flour industry, the research on its competitive strategies concerning its survival and prosperity has shown its significance in practical guidance for enterprises as well as in theoretical research within universities.Under the overall conditions of the national economic revival at present, consumers have been expressing multiple specialized requirements for flour in addition to an increase in the consumption. The main content of this paper, besides the introduction and conclusion, contains four major parts. First, it makes a summary for the competitive strategies of the enterprise; Second, It analyses the actually conditions of flour industry in our country as well as the strategic environment of the New Hongmei, the latter of which is the key point of the whole paper. According to the findings of the survey and based on SWOT analysis, this paper presents the main problem the New Hongmei is faced with. Third, in terms of its problem and specific situation, this paper puts forward concrete competitive strategies for the New Hongmei, namely, the comprehensive competitive three-step strategy.This paper is aimed at hopefully providing practical guidance for the New Hongmei on its plan of competitive strategy and development, meanwhile, offering reference for other flour enterprises on their strategy formulation, and most of all, helping local grain management bureau with its regulation over the food market.
