Abstract

In the procedure of metal machining, cutting is the most basic and reliable machining mean. The history about develop of cutting techniques and revolutions is the history about develop of material using for tools. Because there are more develop and using in engineering materials, the normal high-speed steel and hard alloy tools can not be fit for the needs of high cutting speed, high durable tools and low machining cost. So there is wider space for the development of tools made using super hard materials such as polycrystalline diamond (PCD).The boron-doped diamond , so-called IIb type diamond, processes many wonderful properties such as oxidation-resistance,impact-resistance,stable chemieal charaeter and excellent semiconductor performance.If we tried to using synthetic boron-doped diamond fine powder to growth boron-doped diamond sinter, the boron-doped polycrystalline diamond relativing to processes many wonderful properties such as oxidation-resistance,impact-resistance and stable chemieal charaeter. The excellent semiconductor performance of the boron-doped polycrystalline diamond makes it is easy that the boron-doped polycrystalline diamond is processed used electric arc erosion plant.In this paper, we used a china-type cubic high pressure apparatus to research the synthesis of PCD using a potential melting method under the conditions of 5.5~6.0GPa and 1350~1450℃. We also studied the mechanism of synthesis and composite about the boron-doped polycrystalline diamond. The main results were as below:1. The indirect heating method was designed for the preparation of polycrystalline diamond compact by infiltrating way.2. In the range of pressure and temperature such as5.5~6.0GPa and 1350~1450℃, we tried to using synthetic boron-doped diamond fine powder to growth boron-doped diamond sinter.3. SEM、XRD、XPS、micro-Raman spectroscopy and Hall effect measuring system were used to study the chatacter of PCD.
