Based on a detailed analysis of green logistics theories, this article offered a definition of green logistics. Besides an analysis on the major characteristics of green logistics, it also elaborated on the characteritics of green logistics as prescribed by the government.With a combination of the qualitative and the quantitative research method, this article attempted to carry out a scientific study. On the one hand, it attemped to offer an evaluation standard of green coal logistics by considering its present situation in Shanxi porvince. Based on 15 restrictions under four categories such as the force of the policy, condition and equipment, transportation technology and environmental influence, it offered a scientific appraisal for the degree of greenness of the present coal logistics in Shanxi by means of a fuzzy sythetic evaluation. On the other hand, by combining the PEST model and the SWOT model, it carried out a complete and qualitative analysis of the problem in as well as the causes of the problem and the challenges it faces.The analysis led to the conclusion that the degree of greeness of Shanxi’s coal logistic is relatively low, which calls for our attention and is in urgent need for a solution.
